Almora: The district executive meeting of the Youth Congress was held at the District Congress Office, where detailed discussions were conducted regarding preparations for Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s proposed visit to Almora on June 4. The meeting focused on ensuring maximum participation of youth and students and making the programme a historic event.
Addressing the gathering, Youth Congress leaders said that Rahul Gandhi’s visit would provide an important opportunity to raise the concerns of Uttarakhand’s youth at the national level. Issues such as unemployment, education, migration, contractual employment, outsourcing-based recruitment, and the Agniveer scheme were highlighted as major concerns affecting young people across the state.
Youth Congress leader Gopal Bhatt said that the youth of Uttarakhand are facing serious challenges due to limited employment opportunities and increasing migration from hill regions. He emphasized the need for young people to unite and raise their voices collectively on issues that directly impact their future.
Speakers at the meeting stated that education, employment, dignity, and social justice remain among the key concerns of the younger generation. They noted that Rahul Gandhi has consistently raised youth-related issues on various national platforms, making his proposed Almora visit particularly significant.
The meeting also discussed plans to launch extensive outreach campaigns in colleges, educational institutions, villages, and urban areas to encourage greater participation in the June 4 programme. Youth Congress members resolved to mobilise large numbers of students and young citizens from across the district.
Leaders expressed concern over the growing trend of migration from Uttarakhand and stressed the need for sustainable employment opportunities within the state. They argued that providing quality education and secure jobs is essential for the future development of the region.
The Youth Congress unanimously resolved that thousands of young people and students would participate in the programme to demonstrate their unity and highlight issues related to employment, education, dignity, and justice.
