Almora, : PM Shri Government Model Inter College, Almora, organized a grand Admission Festival and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Formation Ceremony for the academic session 2026-27. The event focused on welcoming newly admitted students, strengthening parent-school cooperation, and recognizing academic excellence.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal, management committee members, and PTA representatives. Students presented Saraswati Vandana, a classical dance performance, and a welcome song, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Principal Vijayalakshmi presented the annual report of the institution and highlighted the school’s achievements, academic performance, and future plans. She emphasized the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and students.
Information regarding the PM Shri Scheme was presented by Anuradha Shah Jenoti, while Punit Joshi explained the objectives and role of the Parent-Teacher Association.
Officials from the Police Department educated students about girls’ safety, cybercrime awareness, and personal security. The Traffic Department team also conducted an awareness session on road safety rules and responsible citizenship.
A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of meritorious students. Gayatri Joshi secured first position, Chandra Kanwal second, and Shalini Bora third in the High School Examination 2026. Several students of the Intermediate Examination also achieved excellent results and brought laurels to the institution.
Students from the Science stream, including Asha Bisht, Sneha Joshi, and Tanuja Goswami, were honoured for their outstanding academic performance. Special recognition was also given to students who contributed significantly to school activities and development.
Under the Tamal Memorial Award, girl students securing more than 75 percent marks in High School and Intermediate examinations received cash awards of ₹1,000 each. Eighteen students associated with the school executive committee were also honoured with encouragement awards.
Newly admitted students were welcomed with gifts, while outstanding performers in science fairs and exhibitions were felicitated for their achievements.
The programme also featured an inspiring address by Dikshit Joshi, a Law graduate from Central Sanskrit University, Devprayag, who spoke about the importance of education, health, discipline, and knowledge in achieving success.
The event was conducted by Uma Tiwari. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to parents, teachers, guests, and students for their continued support and cooperation.
