Almora: The Indian Youth Congress reiterated its commitment to raising the concerns of students and young people over alleged recruitment scams, examination paper leaks, rising unemployment, and issues related to the education system. During a meeting, the organisation called upon the Central and State governments to ensure accountability and address the concerns of the youth.
Addressing the gathering, former State General Secretary of the Youth Congress, Gopal Bhatt, said that democratic protests by students should be respected and that governments should focus on resolving their concerns rather than suppressing their voices. He demanded complete transparency in recruitment examinations, time-bound and impartial investigations into alleged paper leaks and recruitment irregularities, strict action against those found guilty, timely employment opportunities for youth, and effective reforms to strengthen the education system.
Bhatt also appealed to the youth and students of Uttarakhand to join the Youth Congress, stating that the organisation aims to strengthen its presence at the grassroots level and continue advocating for the rights of young people. Referring to the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, he said the organisation would work towards the Congress Party’s electoral goals while continuing its campaigns among students and youth.
The meeting was attended by National Secretary and Uttarakhand Co-incharge Avinash Mahala, District President Vikram Singh Fartyal, District Incharge Abdul Rahman, District Coordinator Narendra Yadav, State General Secretary Kiran Arya, City President Gaurav Joshi, Jageshwar Assembly President Virendra Singh Malada, Block President Rajkamal, Aman Latwal, District General Secretary Deeksha Suyal, along with several office-bearers and party workers.
