Almora: A weekly parade was organized on Friday at the Police Line parade ground in Almora under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar Ghodke with the objective of strengthening discipline, uniformity, and physical as well as mental efficiency among police personnel.
The program began with the inspection of the parade by the SSP. During the inspection, he closely reviewed the discipline, turnout, and preparedness of the police personnel. Later, the SSP himself joined the police force in a running session to encourage the personnel towards better fitness and healthy living.
Various activities including running, quick march, salute drill, squad drill, and weapon training exercises were conducted during the parade. The personnel displayed discipline, coordination, and dedication throughout the training session.
Special training regarding weapons handling was also imparted to the police personnel. Officers explained the technical aspects of weapons, including assembling and dismantling firearms, safe weapon handling practices, and operational techniques. The training aimed at enhancing the professional efficiency and preparedness of the force.
Addressing the personnel, the SSP said that physical fitness and mental alertness are essential for police personnel as they are required to perform challenging duties related to law and order, disaster response, crime prevention, and public safety. He emphasized that regular training and fitness activities help police personnel remain capable of handling difficult situations effectively.
After the parade, the SSP inspected the Police Line premises and reviewed the arrangements. Necessary instructions were issued to concerned officials for maintaining discipline, cleanliness, and better management within the campus.
On the occasion, Additional Superintendent of Police Harbans Singh, CO Almora Balwant Singh Rawat, CO Communication Rajeev Kumar Tamta, CFO Narendra Singh Kunwar, Reserve Inspector Ramesh Chandra, station in-charges, officers from Fire Stations Almora and Ranikhet, and police office staff were present.
