Almora: Govind Pilkhwal conducted a public outreach program in Bhayar Khola Ward of Almora Municipal Corporation on Monday, where he received a warm and grand welcome from local residents, women, youth, and social workers. A traditional felicitation ceremony was organized on the occasion, witnessing enthusiastic participation from a large number of people.
During the interaction, Govind Pilkhwal discussed several issues related to public welfare, regional development, and social participation. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of self-employment and skill development for the youth and women of the region.
He informed the residents about various schemes being run under the Handloom and Handicrafts Department. He stated that the government is promoting tailoring, embroidery, handicrafts, and skill development training programs to make women and young people self-reliant and economically empowered.
Pilkhwal said that Uttarakhand possesses rich traditional art and handicraft heritage, and continuous efforts are being made to provide local artisans and skilled youth with better employment and self-employment opportunities. He added that the government is also working towards giving wider recognition to local products and traditional crafts at different levels.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that skill development has become essential in today’s competitive environment. He encouraged the youth not to depend solely on government jobs but also to explore entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities. According to him, training-based employment generation can play a vital role in reducing migration from hilly regions.
The State Minister assured the people that handloom and handicraft training programs would soon be organized in the Rajpur area. He stated that these initiatives would help local women and youth gain practical skills and become financially independent.
He further highlighted the importance of women’s participation in social and economic development. He said that empowering women through vocational training would strengthen families as well as the local economy.
Local residents also raised issues related to employment opportunities, training centers, and regional development during the program. Pilkhwal assured them that all genuine concerns would be addressed on priority and that he would continue working for the welfare and development of the area.
At the conclusion of the event, Govind Pilkhwal expressed gratitude to the local residents and the organizing committee for their affection and support. He stated that public trust and blessings continue to motivate him toward dedicated public service.
