80 Players Participate in Two-Week-Long Competition; Naveen Kumar ‘Lara’ Finishes Runner-Up
Almora: The Snooker Tournament organized at Sanga Cottage Club, which began on August 22, concluded successfully with the final match held on September 3. Around 80 players from the region enthusiastically participated in the nearly two-week-long tournament.
The title clash witnessed an intense contest between the finalists. Deepak Dhaila delivered an impressive performance to secure the championship title, while Naveen Kumar, popularly known as ‘Lara’, finished as the runner-up.
At the prize distribution ceremony held after the final, winner Deepak Dhaila was awarded ₹10,000 in cash along with a trophy. Runner-up Naveen Kumar ‘Lara’ received ₹5,000 and a trophy.
Kunal Dharanaula was honored with the ‘Best Break’ award for his outstanding performance during the tournament. He received ₹3,000 in cash and a trophy. Vaibhav Chhabra, popularly known as ‘Bony’, secured third place and was also presented with a trophy.
Guests Encourage Players
The closing ceremony was attended by Rajiv Sanga, owner of Cottage Club, along with Vinay Kiroula, Naman Gururani, Ravi Rautela and Nitin Gupta as chief guests.
The guests appreciated the skills and performances of all the participants and encouraged young people to actively participate in sports and make greater efforts to develop their sporting talent.
