Almora: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday participated in the state-level “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive and the “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar” public outreach programme at Garudabaj Ground in Almora on the occasion of Harela festival. Planting a sapling, the Chief Minister appealed to people to actively contribute to environmental conservation.
Addressing the gathering, Dhami described Harela as a symbol of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage and people’s deep bond with nature. He urged every citizen to plant and nurture at least one tree for a greener future.
The Chief Minister also announced eight major development initiatives for the Jageshwar Assembly constituency, including integrated development of Vriddha Jageshwar, a drinking water scheme for the temple, tourism development of Jageshwar heritage sites, construction of a state guest house at Artola, installation of new mobile towers, development of a multi-level parking facility, improvement of the Artola–Jageshwar road with RCC drains and paved shoulders, and commencement of M.A. classes at Danya Degree College.
He said the state government remains committed to delivering development and welfare schemes to the last person under its “Seva, Sushasan aur Samarpan” vision. Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Mohan Singh Mehra, senior officials and a large number of local residents attended the programme.
