Warrior Almora Clinches APL 2025 Title with Dominant 85-Run Victory
Almora: In a thrilling finale of the APL 2025 cricket tournament, Warrior Almora outperformed Champion Almora with a commanding 85-run win to secure the championship title. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Warrior Almora posted a formidable total of 199 runs in the allotted 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was a spectacular knock of 98 runs by Vijendra Bisht, who was later named Man of the Match.
In response, Champion Almora faltered under pressure and was bowled out for just 114 runs. Warrior Almora’s Chandan Latwal played a crucial role with the ball, claiming 3 key wickets to help seal the victory.
Throughout the tournament, several players made remarkable individual contributions. Vikas Fartyal was declared the Man of the Series, while Best Batsman honors went to Prakash Joshi. Gaurav Joshi was awarded Best Bowler, and Rudra Khatri was recognized as the Best Fielder.
The match commenced with a formal introduction of the players by Almora District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey and Senior Superintendent of Police Devendra Pincha, who also extended their best wishes. The toss was conducted by the District Magistrate.
The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Ravi Rautela, Special Guest Vineet Bisht, and program chairperson Jagdish Verma. They presented the winning team with a trophy and a cash prize of ₹2,50,000.
Umpiring duties were carried out by Gopal, Amit, and Gopal Bisht. Scoring was managed by Shankar Bora and Bhuppi Koranga, while commentary was done by Mayank. The program was smoothly hosted by Harshita Tiwari.
