Students showcase talent through cultural performances, music, dance and sports activities
Almora. The annual cultural and sports week ‘Utkarsh-2026’ of Maa Ambey Institute of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences, Almora, began with enthusiasm and excitement. The inaugural programme provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talent through cultural performances, music, dance and various sports activities.
Kundan Latwal, Minister of State, Government of Uttarakhand, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Ganga Bisht, Minister of State, Government of Uttarakhand, was present as the Special Guest. Several other dignitaries, including Ashok Kanwal, Deepak Sharma, Gopal Ji, Manish Kanwal and Lalit Ji, also attended the programme.
The event was held in the presence of Sandeep Singh Yadav, Chairman of Maa Ambey Institute, and Dr. Preeti Pal, Vice-Chairman. The programme was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the guests and institute representatives.
Students participated enthusiastically in a variety of cultural presentations, music and dance performances as well as sports activities. Their performances reflected their creativity, confidence and enthusiasm. The event also provided students with an opportunity to interact with each other and develop a spirit of teamwork.
Addressing the students, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in the overall development of young people. They said that education should not be limited to classroom learning. Sports and cultural activities play an important role in developing confidence, leadership qualities, discipline, creativity and team spirit among students.
The guests encouraged the students to participate actively in ‘Utkarsh-2026’ and make full use of the opportunities provided by the institute to develop their talents. They also emphasised that participation itself is an important part of learning, regardless of the outcome of competitions.
According to the institute, several sports competitions and cultural programmes will be organised during the coming days as part of ‘Utkarsh-2026’. Students will participate in different events with enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
The annual event is aimed at providing students with a platform to showcase their abilities beyond academics while encouraging creativity, teamwork and confidence. The institute also seeks to promote a balanced approach to education by combining academic learning with sports and cultural activities.
The successful organisation of the inaugural programme was supported by the institute’s teachers, staff members and students. The enthusiasm displayed by the students added energy and colour to the beginning of the annual cultural and sports week.
