Almora: Salt Block’s remote Tadam village witnessed an emotional and significant administrative visit after local resident Mahipal Singh lost his life in a tragic human-wildlife conflict incident a few days ago. District Magistrate Anshul Singh personally trekked through difficult terrain to reach the village, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family and assuring villagers that the administration stands firmly with them during this difficult time.
The District Magistrate met the family members of the deceased and conveyed deep condolences. He interacted with the women and children of the family, listened carefully to their concerns, and assured them that the administration would provide all possible assistance. He stated that the government and district administration are committed to supporting the family both emotionally and financially.
Considering the family’s economic condition, the DM directed officials to appoint one daughter of the deceased temporarily as a Data Entry Operator at the Salt Tehsil office. Instructions were also issued for the temporary engagement of another daughter as a volunteer teacher. He said the administration’s priority is to ensure that the tragic incident does not adversely affect the future of the children.
During his visit, the DM also held discussions with villagers regarding local issues. Residents highlighted increasing wildlife threats, poor road connectivity, drinking water shortages, and lack of basic facilities in the remote area. Taking serious note of the grievances, the District Magistrate directed concerned departments to take immediate action.
The DM expressed strong displeasure over the absence of the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, Ranikhet, during the inspection and instructed officials to issue an explanation notice.
