General Public Educated Through a Bike Rally

Under the directive of the Hon’ble Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, and the guidance of the Hon’ble Chairman of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Almora, Mr. Shrikant Pandey, a two-day awareness campaign on the theme “Road Safety: A Step Towards Saving Lives” was organized as per the orders of Secretary Ms. Shachi Sharma.
The campaign, held on May 23 and 24, 2025, featured a public awareness bike rally organized in collaboration with the Police and Transport Departments. The rally commenced from Raghunath City Mall and was flagged off after administering the Road Safety pledge by Divisional Transport Officer Ms. Anita Chand and CO Almora.
The rally route covered Taxi Stand Tiraha, Jalal Tiraha, Base Tiraha, and Karbala, concluding again at Raghunath City Mall.
During the rally, the general public was informed about traffic rules, road signs, and the incentives provided under the “Rahveer Yojana 2025” for Good Samaritans. Under this initiative, individuals helping accident victims within the ‘Golden Hour’ are eligible to receive up to ₹25,000 in cash along with a certificate of appreciation from the Road Safety Cell of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.
Officials and volunteers participating in the rally also distributed pamphlets and posters to raise awareness about road safety and encourage responsible behavior among citizens.
The event was attended by Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Ms. Rashmi Bhatt, Adhikar Mitras, traffic police personnel, and other departmental officials.
According to the District Legal Services Authority, such initiatives will continue in the future through various platforms, aiming to reduce road accidents and protect the lives of citizens.
