Almora: A long-pending demand for improving the public pathway at the Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre in Dhoongadhara is set to be fulfilled following the initiative of nominated Almora Municipal Councillor Jagmohan Bisht. The Almora Municipal Corporation has completed the official measurement of the pathway, and development work is expected to commence shortly.
The pathway leading to the rehabilitation centre has remained in poor condition for a long time. During the monsoon season, mud and slippery surfaces create serious difficulties for the residents of the rehabilitation centre, staff members, and local people. The issue had been raised on several occasions, prompting the councillor to pursue the matter with the Municipal Corporation.
Jagmohan Bisht stated that providing better civic infrastructure to the residents of the rehabilitation centre is a priority. Following his request, the Municipal Corporation conducted a site inspection and completed the necessary measurements. After the required administrative formalities are completed, pathway paving work will begin.
Once completed, the project is expected to improve accessibility, ensure safer movement during the rainy season, and provide better connectivity for residents and visitors. Local residents have welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the work will be completed at the earliest.
