Over 1800 Polling Staff Trained in Theoretical and Practical Aspects of the Electoral Process
Almora | Correspondent – In preparation for the upcoming three-tier Panchayat General Elections 2025, the district administration conducted a one-day training program on Saturday. The session was held at Uday Shankar Natya Academy and the auditorium of SSJ University, Lower Campus, where the designated polling parties were provided comprehensive training related to the electoral process.
During the training, personnel were thoroughly briefed on ballot preparation, polling station arrangements, polling day routines, responsibilities prior to counting, and other essential procedures.
District Magistrate Attended the Training Venue
District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey personally visited the training venue and motivated the polling staff. He emphasized,
> “The fairness, transparency, and success of elections are only possible when every polling official is fully trained, alert, and responsible.”
He urged all personnel to discharge their duties with utmost dedication and sensitivity, and to apply the knowledge gained from the training in real-world situations.
A total of 360 polling parties participated in the session, with five members in each team, including a presiding officer. Thus, approximately 1800 personnel were trained in election-related responsibilities.
Expert Trainers Delivered Practical Guidance
Serving as master trainers, Ashok Kumar (Assistant Statistical Officer), Vinod Rathore, Dr. Hem Joshi (Lecturer, DIET), Neeraj Joshi (District Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha), Rajesh Bisht, and Kapil Nyal, among other officials, delivered clear, practical, and structured guidance on the electoral process to the participants.
The district administration considers this training session a key step towards ensuring a fair, transparent, and well-organized Panchayat election process in the district.
