The National Lok Adalat will be рдЖрдпреЛрдЬрд┐рдд (held) in all courts of Almora district on May 9, 2026. Various cases can be resolved through mutual settlement during this special session.
Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Anamika Singh, has appealed to litigants and the general public that those who wish to settle their cases through the Lok Adalat may submit their applications either personally or through their advocates in the concerned court up to one working day prior to the scheduled date.
She informed that only those cases are taken up in the Lok Adalat which can legally be settled through compromise. A key benefit of the Lok Adalat is that if court fees have already been paid and the case is settled here, the entire court fee is refunded to the parties.

The following categories of cases can be resolved in the Lok Adalat:
Compoundable criminal cases (where compromise is legally permissible)
Labour and employment disputes
Money recovery and financial disputes
Matrimonial disputes (excluding divorce cases)
Civil disputes such as tenancy, injunctions, and specific performance
Cheque bounce cases
Motor accident compensation claims
Electricity and water bill disputes (compoundable)
Land acquisition cases pending in district courts
Revenue cases pending in district courts
Cases pending in consumer forums
Compoundable traffic challans under the Motor Vehicles Act
