Almora – Maa Nanda Sunanda Mahila Sanstha, Almora, celebrated the vibrant festival of Teej with great enthusiasm and cultural grace this year as well. Women adorned in traditional attire actively participated in the event, singing Teej songs and performing folk dances, bringing the festive spirit to life.
Under the leadership of the organization’s President Kiran Pant and Treasurer Poonam Vohra, the event witnessed participation from over 100 women from the town. The Sanstha has been consistently organizing Teej celebrations for the past four years, and this year too, the event was conducted in a grand manner.
A variety of cultural performances were showcased during the celebration, including the traditional Kumaoni Jhora and Chanchari dances, along with performances on modern songs. Competitions such as traditional attire and “Teej Queen” added further excitement and charm to the program.
President Kiran Pant emphasized that Teej is not just a festival but a medium for women’s empowerment and cultural preservation. Treasurer Poonam Vohra shared that the Sanstha will continue to organize such events in the future to strengthen community bonds and promote local culture.
Several senior women and social workers from the town graced the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the Sanstha, calling the active participation of women truly inspiring.
