Almora: Maa Ambe Institute celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm and dignity. The institute campus witnessed a festive atmosphere as students, faculty members, healthcare professionals, and guests participated actively in the event.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome dance presented by students to greet the chief guests. Various cultural performances, motivational speeches, and a short skit based on nursing services captivated the audience throughout the event.
Students highlighted the spirit of dedication, compassion, sacrifice, and humanity associated with the nursing profession through their performances. A special drama depicting the role of nurses during challenging situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic received huge appreciation from the audience.
Senior nursing officers Premlata, Meenakshi, Ekta, Surjit Kaur, and Sudha attended the programme as chief guests. The institute management welcomed them with bouquets and mementos.
Addressing the gathering, the guests said that nursing is not merely a profession but a symbol of service, compassion, and dedication. They emphasized that nurses play a crucial role in patient care and continue to serve society selflessly even in difficult circumstances. The speakers encouraged students to remain committed to their responsibilities with sensitivity and empathy.
Chairman of the institute Thakur Sandeep Singh stated that trained nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system and play an important role in strengthening medical services. He advised students to prepare themselves according to modern healthcare needs while maintaining the spirit of service.
Vice Chairperson Dr. Preeti Pal said that the nursing profession demands discipline, patience, and dedication. She motivated students to move forward with honesty, hard work, and commitment toward their goals.
HR Manager Champa Kanwal, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students were also present during the programme. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
