Grand Finale of Maitri Carrom Tournament, Yash Sah–Jahid Ansari Crowned Champions

The Maitri Carrom Tournament, organized by Maitri Sangh at Khajanchi Mohalla, Almora, concluded with a grand and thrilling final match amid loud applause, great enthusiasm from sports lovers, and an electrifying atmosphere. In the closely contested final that lasted nearly four hours, the duo of Yash Sah and Jahid Ansari delivered an outstanding performance, defeating the strong pair of Raja Pandey and Abhay Sah by 29–22 to clinch the tournament title.

From the very beginning of the tournament, Yash Sah and Jahid Ansari showcased excellent coordination, technical skill, and disciplined gameplay. With patience, precise strikes, and well-planned strategies, they won match after match to reach the final. On the other hand, Raja Pandey and Abhay Sah also impressed everyone with their remarkable performance throughout the tournament and made the final encounter highly exciting.

The final match witnessed intense competition between both teams. On several occasions, the scores were level, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. In the decisive moments, Yash Sah’s accurate strikes combined with Jahid Ansari’s intelligent and tactical moves turned the tide of the match in their favor, ultimately securing their victory.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest, District President of the Traders’ Association Sushil Sah, and Bharatiya Janata Party City President Vineet Bisht honored the winners and runners-up with trophies and mementos. The guests appreciated the discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship of the players, stating that such tournaments guide youth in a positive direction and strengthen brotherhood in society.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Sushil Sah said that sports competitions organized at the local level provide a platform for hidden talent to emerge and play a vital role in building a healthy society. City President Vineet Bisht praised the efforts of Maitri Sangh and assured continued support for organizing similar events in the future.

The tournament witnessed the presence of senior carrom players of the town, social workers, and a large number of sports enthusiasts. Harshvardhan Verma and Girish Joshi performed the role of scorers, with Rajesh Sah also assisting in scoring. On this occasion, senior carrom players Sharad Kannaujia, Indra Singh Bisht, and Manoj Verma Kanchi were specially honored.

The organizing committee also announced that an Open Carrom Tournament will be organized after Holi, providing an opportunity for a larger number of players to participate.
Chief organizer Rohit Sah expressed his gratitude to all guests, players, spectators, and supporters. The event was smoothly conducted by Vijay Chauhan.

Prominent attendees included Deepak Verma, Vivek Verma, Prashant Verma, Anil Bisht, Lalit Mohan Shah, Kanchan Bisht, Amit Shah, Pankaj Verma, Abhay Upreti, Baban, Virendra Singh, Ajay Bisht, Rakesh Shah, Manikaran Gupta, Anil Shah, Kishan Shah, Narayan Bisht, Chandrashekhar Kandpal, Manoj Shah, among many others.

Thus, the Maitri Carrom Tournament concluded successfully with the message of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and social unity.
