Grand Celebration on Narad Jayanti Highlights Ideals of Journalism
Almora: On the auspicious occasion of Narad Jayanti, a grand event was organized by the District Publicity Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Almora. The event emphasized the values and ideals of journalism and society, bringing together prominent personalities from the fields of media, education, administration, and social organizations.
The ceremony commenced with the arrival and welcome of the chief guests, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, marking the formal beginning of the program. The event was skillfully conducted by District Publicity Head Rajendra Joshi. Outlining the program, Chandra Prakash Phuloria delivered the welcome address and extended greetings to all the dignitaries present.
The chief guest, Dr. Lalit Chandra Joshi, in his keynote address, hailed Narad Muni as the ideal of Indian journalism. He highlighted Narad’s principles and emphasized that he was a symbol of information, communication, and truth. Dr. Joshi stated that Narad’s life continues to guide modern journalists in fulfilling their responsibilities. He underlined the need for ethical values in today’s journalism and urged media professionals to prioritize truth, impartiality, and public service.
Kamal, the regional RSS publicity officer and the main speaker of the event, expressed his thoughts by stating that journalism is a form of devotion and Narad Muni its supreme practitioner. He added that journalists should not only transmit information but also guide society in a positive direction.
Prof. Satpal Singh Bisht, Vice Chancellor of Kumaon University, present as a special guest, also delivered a meaningful address. He said that the celebration of Narad Jayanti not only underscores the core values of journalism but also inspires the younger generation towards constructive thinking and meaningful communication.
Almora Municipal Mayor Ajay Verma, who presided over the program, said in his address that such events contribute to the revival of moral values in society and serve as a source of inspiration for those working in the field of journalism.
In the concluding segment of the program, Roop Singh Bisht extended a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the guests, speakers, and attendees for their presence and contribution to the success of the event.
Distinguished personalities such as Deepak Gururani, Laxman Singh Bhoj, Jasod Singh, Manish Tiwari, Harish Tripathi, and district publicity head Ashutosh, along with workers from various RSS departments and affiliated organizations, graced the occasion with their presence.
