Almora – Uttarakhand Governor Lt. General (Retd.) Gurmit Singh visited the world-renowned Kasar Devi Temple in Almora on Thursday, where he offered prayers and meditated for the welfare of all humanity. Deeply moved by the spiritual ambiance, the Governor praised the temple’s divine energy and tranquil environment.
“I consider myself fortunate to once again set foot in this divine space,” he said. “The peace and serenity one experiences here are beyond words. This place truly radiates spiritual consciousness.”
Recalling history, he noted that Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s greatest spiritual icons, had also meditated at Kasar Devi—underscoring the temple’s deep spiritual significance.
A Message to Tourists
The Governor urged both domestic and international tourists to visit this sacred destination at least once. “Experiencing the unique peace and divinity of this place can have a transformative effect,” he remarked. He also highlighted the region’s other prominent spiritual sites like Jageshwar Dham, Golu Devta Temple, and Katarmal Sun Temple, emphasizing that these cultural and spiritual landmarks offer visitors a rare and enriching experience.
Praise for Local Administration
During his visit, the Governor lauded the efforts of the District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey and Chief Development Officer Divesh Shashni, commending the administration for its exemplary performance and forward-looking developmental plans. He extended his appreciation to the entire administrative machinery for their dedication and service.
