Councillors Anju Bisht Efforts Yield Results; Irrigation Department Conducts On-Site Inspection
Almora.
Municipal Councillor Anju Bisht recently submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department, Mohan Singh Rawat, regarding severe drainage issues in Dubkiya Ward. The meeting took place a week ago, during which the department assured prompt action to resolve the problem.
Following coordinated efforts by Councillor Anju Bisht, Assistant Engineer Jeevesh Verma along with his team conducted a detailed site inspection in the ward. Based on the assessment, the department has given a firm assurance that the construction work of two major drains will commence within the next 2 to 3 days.
The first proposed drain will pass from the residence of Sunil Bisht, continue alongside the house of Priya Judge, and extend up to the motor road near Badee Bageecha. The second drain will be constructed from Anand Verma’s house to Shambhu Bisht’s residence. These drainage lines are expected to significantly mitigate the persistent waterlogging issues that trouble residents, especially during the monsoon.
Present at the site inspection were Councillor Anju Bisht, Assistant Engineer Lata Nayal, and contractor representative Ram Bhagat Bhandari, along with several local residents. Speaking at the occasion, Councillor Anju Bisht appreciated the quick response of the Irrigation Department and stated, “Addressing the public’s problems is the foremost responsibility of any public representative. We will ensure the work is completed on time with proper quality standards.”
Councillor Anju Bisht also highlighted that drainage issues in Dubkiya Ward have persisted for years, but now, with the department’s proactive involvement, a permanent solution is underway.
Local residents expressed their satisfaction and gratitude toward the councillors and officials for initiating the work swiftly.
