Special Emphasis on River Cleanliness, Conservation, and Maintaining Water Quality

A crucial meeting of the District Ganga Protection Committee was held in the video conferencing hall of the Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey. The meeting focused on the cleanliness, conservation, and maintenance of water quality in the district’s rivers.
The District Magistrate directed concerned departments to ensure regular cleaning of the Ganga’s tributaries and other water sources. He emphasized the importance of involving local communities in river conservation efforts through awareness campaigns. Special attention was also given to sewerage systems, solid waste management, and the treatment of drains to effectively curb water pollution.
During the meeting, officials presented the current status of ongoing Ganga conservation projects and discussed detailed plans for future initiatives. The ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign was also reviewed.
The District Magistrate instructed that plantation targets must be achieved within the stipulated time frame. He urged concerned departments to complete all necessary preparations to meet these goals.
The meeting also included a review of pending cases related to forest land transfers. The District Magistrate stressed the need to expedite the resolution of these cases to accelerate road and other infrastructure projects in the district.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer Deepak Singh, Chief Development Officer Ramji Sharan Sharma, DPO Ranjita, and other departmental officers and subject experts.
The decisions taken in the meeting are being viewed as a balanced approach towards environmental conservation and developmental progress in the district.
