Almora: Dry 'Tun' trees along the roadside near Adams School on L.R. Sah Road have become a serious safety hazard for pedestrians and students. A petition has been sent to the District Magistrate requesting immediate action to address this issue. According to reports, several large 'Tun' trees are located along the road next to the Adams School campus, most of which have completely dried out. The dry and weak branches of these trees are at risk of falling, which could harm pedestrians, parents, and the children coming to and from the school. Local residents have raised concerns, saying that hundreds of children pass under these trees every day during school hours, and there is a growing fear of a potential accident. Advocate Azad Khan, from the District Court Almora, has sent a letter to the District Magistrate highlighting the dangerously deteriorating condition of these trees. He pointed out that the risk of branches falling increases significantly during high winds or rainfall, further endangering public safety. The letter demands immediate trimming of the dry branches and, if necessary, the legal removal of the entire trees. The petition also urges the administration to take swift action in ensuring safety measures are implemented to avoid any unfortunate incidents. Local parents and residents have also expressed their concerns, urging the administration to prioritize the safety of children, given the proximity of the school. Until action is taken, the community remains anxious about the potential danger posed by the trees
