Campaign marking 25 years of ‘Seva Samarpan’ to continue till October 17; programmes planned across Almora
Almora. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Uttarakhand from September 16 to October 17, 2026, marking 25 years of its ‘Seva Samarpan’ journey. A wide range of programmes focusing on public service, welfare, awareness and public participation will be organised across Almora district.
The BJP’s Almora district unit held a press conference to brief the media about the campaign. District Media In-charge and Coordinator Manish Kumar Joshi (Mantu) welcomed the journalists and media representatives. District BJP president Mahesh Nayaal subsequently outlined the campaign programme.
Nayaal said the 25-year journey of ‘Seva Samarpan’ represents the party’s efforts to treat public service as a means of reaching people at the grassroots level. He said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan would go beyond a series of events and focus on service, public outreach, participation and connecting different sections of society.
The campaign will begin on September 16, the birthday of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, with blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, havan-yagnas and other public service activities.
September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be observed as ‘Seva Diwas’. Under the programme ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya—Jisne Jeevan Sanwara, Use Aashirwad Hamara’, lamps will be lit at the homes of beneficiaries of various government schemes at 7 pm. Lamps will be distributed across the district on September 14 and 15, and lamp-lighting programmes will also be organised at prominent public and historic locations.
Other programmes will include ‘25 Crore Bachchon Ke Sapnon Ka Bharat’, ‘Namo Seva Gatha’, ‘Aangan Ka Utsav’, ‘Kahani Badlav Ki’, ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’, ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ and ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’.
Blood donation, cleanliness and awareness drives, assistance for people in need, rangoli programmes and a National Innovation Challenge for students and young people will also form part of the campaign.
Nayaal said the campaign would not remain confined to the district and mandal levels and that the party aims to take it to every booth. Party workers, public representatives and office-bearers will work to ensure wider participation of beneficiaries, youth, women and citizens.
He said all programmes in Almora district between September 16 and October 17 would seek extensive public participation.
