Almora: An awareness rally was organized under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ (Drug-Free India Campaign) by the Women Welfare Department, Almora. The rally was conducted in accordance with the directives received from the District Magistrate, with enthusiastic participation from students of P.M. Shri Atal Adarsh Government Inter College, Almora.
The rally commenced with the support of the District Probation Office, Child Welfare Committee, Child Helpline, and District Child Protection Unit, Almora. The primary objective of the initiative was to sensitize the youth about the harmful effects of drug addiction and to encourage them to lead a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Prominent officials present during the event included Kamla Koshyari, Sunita Joshi, and Vandana Joshi from the District Child Protection Unit. Archana Kothari, member of the Child Welfare Committee, Preeti Bisht (Counselor), Harshvardhan Joshi, and Himanshu Joshi from the Child Helpline also actively participated in the event.
During the rally, students raised slogans like “Nasha Chhodo, Jeevan Sanwaro” (Quit drugs, improve your life) and “Yuva Shakti – Desh Ki Takat” (Youth power – the strength of the nation), spreading awareness among the public. The rally moved through various parts of the city and was well-received by local residents.
At the conclusion of the event, officials addressed the students, urging them to stay away from substance abuse and focus on building a better future. The rally concluded successfully, and the department expressed gratitude to all participants for their involvement.
