Concerns Raised Over Administrative Interference, New Executive Committee Formed
Almora — The annual convention of the Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Association, Irrigation Department (Almora Branch), was successfully held on Wednesday at the Subdivision Irrigation Office Hall. The event brought together departmental engineers and staff to discuss longstanding issues affecting the department.
In the first session, participants voiced serious concerns over growing administrative interference in departmental functions, stating it was detrimental to the autonomy of the organization. Discussions also centered around unresolved employee grievances, including the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) process, shortage of support staff such as beldars, and a review of organizational activities.
The convention began with an address by District President Er. Jeevesh Verma, who emphasized the importance of unity within the organization. He urged members to come together and advocate strongly for resolution of their problems, while reaffirming the department’s commitment to timely execution of public welfare projects.
During the second session, a new executive committee was elected. Er. Siddharth Sah was unanimously chosen as the President of the Almora branch of the Irrigation Department Employees Federation, while Er. Divyang Bisht was elected Secretary. The newly elected officials pledged to strengthen the association and prioritize employee issues.
The program was conducted by Lalit Mohan Bisht. The convention saw participation from Er. Mohan Singh Rawat, Er. Vipin Tiwari, Lata Nyal, Pankaj Kumar Arya, Deepak Matiyali, Suman Bisht, Vishakha Pant, and several other officers and members. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the successful organization of the convention.
