Says – Opposition misguiding the public due to BJP’s rising popularity
Almora, :
Vice-Chairman of the Uttarakhand Safai Karmachari Commission, AK Sikandar Pawar, has strongly criticized the ongoing political activities around the Kwarab Dangerous Point on the Nainital-Almora National Highway, labeling them as “sheer theatrics.” In a statement issued on Monday, Pawar alleged that the Congress party, frustrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s growing popularity, is now trying to mislead the public through political stunts.
Pawar challenged the opposition, particularly the Congress party, stating, “If they possess a special technology that can resolve the decades-old Kwarab road issue within ten days, they should immediately share it with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Ajay Tamta.” He further remarked that the Congress ruled the state and country for over 60 years but failed to address the hazardous condition of this road segment during their tenure.
Taking a dig at a recent protest staged by the Congress at the District Magistrate’s office in Almora, Pawar dismissed the act as mere showmanship. “The protest was not about addressing public grievances—it was a calculated political stunt meant to divert attention from the actual development work happening on the ground,” he added.
He reiterated that the BJP government is fully committed to development and is actively working on permanent solutions for high-risk zones like Kwarab. Pawar urged the people not to be misled by opposition rhetoric and to continue trusting the BJP government’s development-oriented agenda.
The statement comes amid heightened political exchanges over infrastructure issues in the region, with the Kwarab Dangerous Point emerging as a focal point of debate between ruling and opposition parties.
