Almora: Residents of Nyal Khola in Dubkiyan Ward have received relief as the Jal Sansthan has started construction and repair work to address a long-standing water leakage problem in the area.
Water was reportedly leaking from a chamber and flowing onto the local road and towards nearby houses. The continuous leakage had created inconvenience for residents and affected movement along the road. There were also concerns that continued water flow could cause further problems for nearby properties.
After the issue was brought to the attention of the concerned department, officials of the Jal Sansthan inspected the site and initiated the required construction work. The beginning of the work has raised hopes among residents that the leakage problem will soon be resolved.
Local residents had been facing difficulties due to the continuous flow of water from the chamber. The water was reaching the road and surrounding areas, creating inconvenience for pedestrians and people living nearby. During periods of heavy water flow, the situation could become more problematic.
Ward Councillor Anju Bisht expressed her gratitude to the Jal Sansthan officials and the entire departmental team for taking prompt action on the issue. She particularly thanked the Junior Engineer (JE), Assistant Engineer (AE), and their team for visiting the site and initiating the necessary work.
Councillor Anju Bisht said that resolving basic civic problems of residents remains a priority. She added that the issue concerning the leaking chamber had been brought to the notice of the concerned authorities so that residents could get relief at the earliest.
She expressed hope that the ongoing construction work would provide a permanent solution and prevent water from again flowing onto the road or towards nearby houses.
Residents have also welcomed the action taken by the Jal Sansthan. They said that timely intervention by the department would help improve the condition of the road and reduce the risk of water entering residential areas.
Residents further expressed their expectation that the construction work would be completed properly and according to technical standards so that the problem does not recur.
The commencement of the work has brought a sense of relief among people in Nyal Khola. The local residents have appreciated the efforts of Councillor Anju Bisht in highlighting the issue and thanked the Jal Sansthan officials and staff for initiating corrective action.
