Kapkot: Kukrauli hamlet under Deval Chaura Gram Panchayat has remained cut off from the tehsil and district headquarters for the past four to five days due to continuous rainfall. The village’s only pedestrian route has been blocked by fallen trees, heavy debris, and mud, disrupting movement for local residents.
Former MLA Lalit Farswan, who visited the affected area, said that the condition of the pathway has made it extremely difficult for schoolchildren to attend classes. Villagers are also facing serious problems in bringing essential supplies such as LPG cylinders, vegetables, groceries, and other daily necessities.
Residents said that the matter has already been reported to the local revenue official (Patwari) and the Disaster Management Department, but no concrete relief measures have been initiated so far. As a result, fear and uncertainty continue to prevail among the villagers.
Social workers Bhupal Singh Negi, Madan Singh Negi, Captain Dham Singh Gadhiya, Kundan Goswami, Ramesh Gadhiya, Kailash Singh, and Rahul Negi have urged the administration to restore the blocked route and provide immediate relief to the affected residents.
The villagers also held discussions with Forest Department official Suresh Lal. He informed them that the area falls under the jurisdiction of the Kapkot Range and that the report has been forwarded to the concerned authorities. Residents have appealed for immediate action to restore connectivity and ensure the safety of the village.
