Anju Bisht and Rakesh Bisht Conduct Night Inspection Despite Rain; Municipal Commissioner Receives Written Request
Haldwani: With Navratri and Ramleela celebrations approaching, councillors Anju Bisht and Rakesh Bisht conducted a night inspection of street lighting arrangements in Dookiya Ward, despite rainfall.
During the inspection, the councillors visited various locations across the ward and identified places where streetlights were not functioning or where additional lighting was required.
The initiative aims to improve public convenience and ensure adequate illumination during the upcoming festive season, when the movement of residents and visitors is expected to increase.
A written application has been submitted to the Municipal Commissioner requesting necessary action to improve the street lighting system. The request includes installing new lights at identified locations and addressing issues with non-functional streetlights.
The councillors said their priority is to ensure that new lights are installed at all identified locations before Navratri begins. Adequate lighting will help residents move around more conveniently at night and contribute to better arrangements during the festive celebrations.
They emphasised that proper illumination on roads, lanes and public pathways is particularly important during Navratri and Ramleela, when people frequently travel to attend religious and cultural programmes.
The night inspection by Anju Bisht and Rakesh Bisht reflects an effort to identify local infrastructure issues and bring them to the attention of the municipal authorities for timely resolution.
Residents will now look forward to the necessary improvements being carried out before the festive season begins.
