Field inspection conducted in Sera, Asan and adjoining areas; villagers seek compensation
Bhakuna. Farmers in Gram Sabha Bhakuna are facing serious losses due to increasing damage to agricultural crops caused by wild boars. An inspection was recently conducted in Sera, Asan and other adjoining areas after villagers reported extensive damage to their standing crops.
During the inspection, crop fields affected by wild boars were examined and the extent of damage was assessed on the ground. According to the preliminary assessment, crops belonging to around 60 families have been affected in the area.
A Forest Department forest guard was also present during the inspection. The entire affected area was inspected along with the villagers, and the condition of the agricultural fields was observed. Villagers informed the officials that wild boars have been repeatedly entering their fields and damaging standing crops.
Farmers said that they invest considerable time, labour and resources in cultivating their fields. Repeated crop damage by wild animals has therefore become a serious economic concern for farming families. The villagers have urged the concerned departments to take effective measures to control the problem and protect agricultural land from further damage.
Gram Sabha Bhakuna Gram Pradhan Jyoti Dangwal has appealed to the government and the concerned authorities to conduct a proper assessment of the crop losses suffered by the affected families. She requested that eligible villagers be provided appropriate financial assistance or compensation according to the applicable rules.
The villagers also emphasized the need for long-term measures to prevent wild boars from repeatedly entering agricultural fields. They said that compensation would provide immediate relief to families that have already suffered losses, while effective preventive measures would help protect crops in the future.
The villagers expressed hope that the administration and Forest Department will take the matter seriously and initiate necessary action at the earliest. They have requested that the affected families be provided timely relief after proper verification and assessment of the crop damage.
