AAP leader Bhuvan Joshi targets BJP leaders, says patients need doctors, not political assurances
Almora. The shortage of a physician at the District Hospital in Almora has triggered fresh political criticism, with Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhuvan Joshi questioning a statement made by a senior BJP leader and former Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly in August.
Joshi said the BJP leader had claimed that a physician would be posted at the District Hospital within a week. However, he alleged that considerable time has passed and the hospital is still without the required physician.
According to Joshi, the absence of a specialist doctor is causing difficulties for patients visiting the hospital. He questioned why the assurance made in August has not translated into an actual posting.
The AAP leader also alleged that political competition among BJP leaders, including attempts to take credit and project greater influence, was overshadowing important public issues. He said that different statements on the same issue were creating confusion among the public.
Joshi said the District Hospital is not a political arena but an institution directly connected with the health and lives of thousands of people. Patients, he said, need timely access to specialist doctors and proper treatment rather than political claims and assurances.
He demanded that BJP leaders clarify when the physician promised in August would actually be posted at the District Hospital.
Joshi urged the BJP leaders to rise above political differences and put pressure on the government for an immediate solution. He said the priority should be the patients and the improvement of healthcare facilities.
“People do not need political claims; they need doctors in the hospital,” Joshi said.
