Almora: Residents of Railapali Ward No. 37 under Almora Municipal Corporation have been facing severe difficulties as the drinking water supply has reportedly remained disrupted for around ten days.
With water not reaching households for several consecutive days, residents are struggling not only to arrange drinking water but also to meet their daily household requirements.
Residents said that the concerned Jal Sansthan (Water Works Department) has already been informed about the problem, but a permanent solution has not yet been provided. Locals have alleged that departmental negligence and a slow response have prolonged the crisis.
The prolonged disruption has caused growing resentment among residents, who have questioned why the problem has not been resolved even after ten days.
Ward councillor Pradeep Chandra Arya warned that if the water supply is not restored soon, an agitation will be launched against the Jal Sansthan. He demanded immediate intervention by the concerned officials.
Residents have urged senior departmental officials to visit the area, assess the situation on the spot and take necessary steps to restore the water supply at the earliest.
They questioned why a basic public utility has remained disrupted for ten days despite the department being informed and warned that they may approach higher authorities if the issue is not resolved promptly.
