Champawat: The Seva Sankalp Foundation is set to organise the district’s first-ever ‘Sawan Utsav 2026’, a special cultural celebration dedicated to women. According to the organisers, preparations have reached the final stage, with teams working to ensure a grand and well-organised event.
The foundation said the festival aims to provide mothers, sisters, and daughters with a platform to showcase their talent, creativity, and cultural heritage while promoting women’s empowerment, social harmony, and traditional Indian values.
The event will feature folk songs, folk dances, Sawan-themed performances, swings, traditional attire, cultural presentations, competitions, and other entertainment activities. The venue is being decorated with greenery, floral arrangements, and a traditional Sawan theme to create a festive atmosphere.
Organisers have also made arrangements for the safety, comfort, and seating of participants and visitors. The foundation stated that the initiative is not merely a cultural programme but an effort to strengthen women’s confidence, preserve cultural traditions, and encourage community participation.
The foundation has invited women from across Champawat district to participate in large numbers. The festival will be held on 9 August 2026 at GGIC Auditorium, Champawat, and on 11 August 2026 at Milan Vatika, Tanakpur.
