Almora: A cow was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident near Bhairav Temple in Almora on Saturday evening at around 4:00 PM. According to local residents, an unidentified vehicle struck the animal and fled the scene, leaving the cow bleeding and in distress on the roadside.
The incident drew immediate attention from passersby and local residents, who gathered at the spot and rushed to help the injured animal. Witnesses said the impact caused severe injuries, resulting in significant blood loss.
Upon receiving information about the incident, local councillor Meera Mishra and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Minister Divya Joshi reached the location without delay. With the support of local residents, they arranged first aid and dressing for the injured cow, ensuring that immediate medical assistance was provided.
Residents appreciated the prompt response of the public representatives and volunteers, stating that timely treatment helped stabilize the animal’s condition and prevented further suffering.
The matter was also reported to the Municipal Corporation. Soon after, municipal employees arrived at the scene and assisted in the rescue and care efforts. Officials assured residents that necessary arrangements would be made for the animal’s continued treatment and monitoring.
