Almora. As per the scheduled program of the District Bar Association Almora’s biennial elections for the year 2025–27, the sale of nomination papers commenced on Wednesday, 03 December 2025, at 10:00 AM. On the very first day, candidates purchasing nomination papers for various posts set the election atmosphere buzzing with enthusiasm.
For the post of President, Advocate Kavindra Pant obtained the nomination paper. Advocate Harish Lohumi purchased the nomination form for the Vice President post, while Advocate Vibha Pandey obtained the form for the Women Vice President post. Advocate Vinod Phulara filed for the General Secretary post, Advocate Chandan Bagdwal for Joint Secretary, Advocate Ramashankar Nainwal for Treasurer, and Advocate Naval Joshi for the Auditor post.
Additionally, Advocate Shankar Kumar purchased the nomination paper for the post of Library President. For the Executive Committee Member post, nomination papers were purchased by Advocate Vikrant Ramchandra Bakhtawar and Advocate Amit Bisht.
As per the election schedule, nomination papers will also be available for sale on Thursday, 04 December 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
During the distribution of nomination papers, Election Committee Chairman Advocate Pankaj Latwal, along with committee members Advocate Amita Chaudhary, Advocate Murli Manohar Bhatt, Advocate Ejaz Ansari, Advocate Rohit Karki, and Advocate Devashish Negi, were present.
With the initiation of the election process at the Bar Association premises, an enthusiastic and politically active environment could be observed among the advocates. All eyes are now focused on the submission and scrutiny phase, after which the election scenario will become clearer.
