The Red Cross Society Almora has stepped forward to assist trader Naveen Chandra Tiwari, whose house and belongings were destroyed in a recent fire incident at Nainipul market area, located on the Almora–Haldwani highway. The humanitarian support provided by the Red Cross has brought some relief to the distressed family struggling to rebuild their life.
Red Cross Society Almora President Ashish Verma, Youth President Amit Sah (Monu), Youth Vice President Arjun Singh Bisht (Chima), Kapil Malhotra, Harish Bhandari, Village Head (Sarpanch) of Chausali Jagdish Latwal, Village Head of Athar Bani Nisha Joshi, along with other members, visited the affected family and handed over essential relief material. They also assured complete support in the future.
As per information, Naveen Chandra Tiwari had been running a small sweets shop in the Nainipul market for a long time. He lived nearby in a rented room with his wife and children. Unfortunately, a sudden fire broke out in the room, and within moments, it spread rapidly, engulfing the entire household.
Despite efforts by local residents to control the blaze, most of the household belongings were reduced to ashes. The family lost valuable daily-use items, cash worth thousands of rupees, children’s clothes, school books, and other essential goods. The incident has left the family in a state of deep financial and emotional crisis.
Upon receiving the information, the Red Cross Society Almora team quickly mobilized and reached the family, providing the necessary relief supplies and emotional support. The family expressed their gratitude towards the Red Cross team and all those who came forward to help them in this difficult time.
Local residents shared that Naveen is a hardworking individual who supported his family by running his small business. The unfortunate fire has shattered their livelihood and created severe challenges in fulfilling daily needs.
Representatives from the Red Cross stated that helping such families in distress is one of the primary objectives of the organization, and they will continue offering necessary assistance wherever required.
Local public representatives and social workers have appealed to the administration to provide immediate government relief and rehabilitation support to the affected family so they can restart their life with dignity.
This compassionate gesture by the Red Cross Society has not only provided material support but has also reinforced a strong message of humanity and community service in society.
