Demands for Bridge on Kosi River, Road Paving, and Water Supply Gain Widespread Support

Almora — A grand thanksgiving event was organized on Wednesday by the Rashtraneeti Sangathan at Gram Panchayat Khunt, following the successful conclusion of a 44-day mass movement led by the organization. The event, presided over by National President Advocate Vinod Tiwari, witnessed the participation of villagers, movement volunteers, media personnel, and representatives from various political parties.

The movement focused on three major demands critical to the villages of Khunt, Dhams, Senar, Chan, and Raun Dal Chan:

1. Construction of a bridge over the Kosi River

2. Paving of the main road

3. Permanent drinking water supply at GIC Khunt

In addition to these, the movement also highlighted the demand for Scheduled Tribe status for hill communities in Uttarakhand.

During the ceremony, heartfelt gratitude was extended to all those who played key roles in the movement’s success. Ajay Joshi (The Aspirant) was specially honored as the principal strategist and inspiration behind the movement. Others acknowledged included Govind Prasad, Nandan Singh, Pooran Singh Bora, Neha Arya, Kiran Arya, Suresh Tiwari, Sushil Shah, Devendra Mehta, Deepak Arya, and Madan Bisht, along with hundreds of villagers, social workers, and media representatives.

Adv. Vinod Tiwari remarked that the movement was not driven by any individual but represented the collective voice of the people. He assured that if the demands remain unmet, an even larger movement will be launched in the future. He urged everyone to stay united and continue the fight for public welfare.

The event concluded with the national anthem and songs symbolizing resistance and unity.
