Addresses Thought Seminar as Chief Guest at Faculty of Law, SSJ University, Almora

Uttarakhand’s Minister of Watershed Management and State Convenor of the “One Nation, One Election” campaign, Ramesh Gadhia, attended a thought seminar as the chief guest at the Moot Court Hall of the Faculty of Law, Soban Singh Jeena University. The seminar aimed to generate public awareness and foster meaningful dialogue on the significant electoral reform initiative.
In his keynote address, Minister Gadhia emphasized that “One Nation, One Election” will not only streamline the electoral process but also accelerate administrative efficiency, reduce election-related expenditures, and ensure political stability. “Frequent elections slow down the pace of development and divert the government’s focus from public welfare to political maneuvering,” he remarked. “This reform will usher in a more focused and stable governance model.”
Mr. Gadhia stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is earnestly pursuing this reform, and nationwide discussions are underway. He assured that Uttarakhand is ready to play a constructive role in implementing this historic initiative.
The seminar witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities including BJP District President Mahesh Nayal, former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jagat Singh Bisht, Govind Pilkhiwal, former District President Ravi Rautela, Mayor Ajay Verma, ABVP’s former State Minister Lokesh Kalakoti, City President Vineet Bisht, former student union presidents Sunil Bisht and Rajan Joshi, youth leader Ashish Joshi, Mandal General Secretaries Manish Bisht and Sunder Matiyani, BJP leaders Deepa Adhikari, Poonam Paliwal, Gram Pradhan Deepak Adhikari, and former councilor Saurabh Verma.
The event was anchored by Mr. Kailash Gururani. A large number of students, faculty members, NCC cadets, and media personnel attended the seminar, reflecting significant interest in the topic.
Following the seminar, Minister Gadhia visited the PWD Guest House, where he felicitated newly appointed BJP Mandal office bearers and discussed strategies to strengthen the party’s organizational structure.
