A grand block-level yoga program was successfully conducted at Takshshila Public School, Badhichhina, under the aegis of the AYUSH and AYUSH Education Department, following the directives of Dr. Ganesh Upadhyay, District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, Almora.
The event commenced at 7:45 AM with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the idol of Lord Dhanvantari, accompanied by the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. This was followed by a collective yoga session led by trained instructors Harish Joshi, Manoj Bisht, Nirmala, and Geetanjali, under the Common Yoga Protocol.
The program was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Ravi Rautela, former BJP President of Almora and State Executive Member. Other notable attendees included Block Development Officer Mr. Lalit Kumar, BJP District General Secretary Dharmendra Bisht, BJP Nagar Mandal President Vineet Bisht, and former Block Pramukh Harish Banaula. All dignitaries addressed the audience, highlighting the health benefits of yoga and Ayurveda.
Personnel from the tehsil and block offices, staff from various departments, students and teachers from government and private schools, and local citizens participated enthusiastically in large numbers.
Dr. Ganesh Upadhyay informed that such yoga programs will be organized regularly to promote awareness among the public. He also announced that the International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, will be celebrated in Almora on a grand scale.
Dr. Mukesh Molfa, the program’s nodal officer, expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged them to integrate yoga into their daily lives. The stage was conducted by Dr. Harish Dharmashaktu.
Special support was provided by Dr. Prabha, pharmacist Narvdeshwar Prasad Vijalwan, Madan Prakash, Sunita, Santosh Shukla, Dharmendra Pathak (Education Dept.), Nathiram Nautiyal (Agriculture Dept.), Gopal Agari, and Bollywood actor Lalit Bisht.
