Almora: To commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Rajmata Shiv Kamini Ahilyabai Holkar in May 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a meeting on Sunday at Mayank Palace, Chaughanpata. The meeting was presided over by BJP District President Mahesh Nayal and conducted by Municipal President Vineet Bisht.
Anand Dangwal was appointed as the Chief Coordinator for the celebration, while Leela Bora, Rekha Arya, Pushpa Bhandari, and Rajendra Joshi were named as Co-Coordinators. Addressing the meeting, Anand Dangwal presented the outline of the month-long celebration, which will be organized nationwide from May 21 to May 31, 2025.
The event will feature workshops in all four mandals of the legislative constituency. These workshops will involve participation from social organizations, activists, and NGOs working in the social sector. The main celebration in Almora is scheduled for May 29 and will be held in a grand and inclusive manner.
It was also decided that on May 19, a “Sindoor Samman” march will be organized from Chaughanpata to Shikhar Chowk at 4 PM. Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya is expected to attend as the chief guest.
The meeting was attended by several key BJP leaders including State Executive Member Ravi Rotela, State Mahila Morcha Vice President Kiran Pant, former Municipal President Arvind Bisht, District General Secretary Dharmendra Bisht, District Vice President Kailash Gururani, Prakash Bhatt, Meena Bhaisoda, Co-Media Incharge Jagat Tiwari, IT Head Govind Matela, former President and Councilor Amit Shah Monu, Mahila Morcha District President Leela Bora, Vice President Tara Jeena, Municipal President of Mahila Morcha Deepa Adhikari, General Secretary Rekha Arya, Yuva Morcha District President Rajendra Joshi, Councilor Manoj Joshi, Shubham Rotela, Mamta Sah and many other party workers and officials.
All attendees expressed a strong commitment to make the event memorable and reflective of Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s enduring legacy.
